Covid-19 Response
Dear Patient,
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
As we anticipate a return to work in the coming weeks, Vernon Valley Dentistry continues to follow the American Dental Association’s (ADA) recommendations limiting care to emergency/urgent/necessary dental treatment. Please be advised that our office hours are subject to change on the basis of demand for our services.
If you are in pain or discomfort, please call/text our office: 973-827-2255 or email us at vernonvalleydentistry@gmail.com as we focus on providing our patients and community with safe treatment options.
To ensure the safety of our patients and staff, we have taken extra precautions, implementing newly added measures and safety protocols so that your health is protected. Vernon Valley Dentistry has been aligned in accordance with the infection control safety protocols from the ADA, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). You may see some changes when it is time for your appointment. We made these changes to protect our patients and staff upon guidance from the CDC which categorically includes but is not limited to the following:
Our office will e-mail you a Patient Screening Form prior to your scheduled appointment to collect information. This form will need to be filled out and e-mailed back to us. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
We will have hand sanitizer that you will be asked to use when you enter our office. You will also find some in each of the patient treatment rooms and throughout the office for you to use as needed.
Our waiting room will be closed for the time being to limit personal contact as much as possible.
Appointments will be managed to allow social distancing between patients. This may mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as minimize interaction between patients.
Air cleaning machines with high-efficiency HEPA filter layer that can effectively absorb 99% water vapor, and aerosols will be placed throughout our office.
Infrared touchless thermometer scans will be used to screen for fever.
Face shields and N95 masks will be used by all of our clinical team members.
All team members are being screened before the start of each day.
Plexiglass barriers have been placed for front desk/reception area.
Our ENTIRE office has and will continue to be sprayed with an Anti-Covid Approved Disinfectant multiple times throughout the day, before and after every patient.
Upon entering, EVERY patient MUST first wash their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds prior to signing in.
Additional Protective Measures – due to the high risk of covid 19, our staff will be donning additional personal protective equipment (PPE). As such, the ADA has advised to add a PPE fee to east visit. Our office PPE fee is $10 per person. The fee along with the dental procedures for the visit will be submitted to your insurance company as always – if the fee is not covered, the balance will be the patient’ responsibility
Once again, we will continue to schedule and manage appointments to allow for social distancing between patients to help prevent crowding and to minimize social contact as best as possible. When possible, we kindly ask that you limit extra companions on your trip to the office, and to have only the patient being seen come to the appointment unless the patient is a minor.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, our staff, and every patient safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please e-mail vernonvalleydentistry@gmail.com or call/text our office at 973-827-2255.
Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends!
In Safety and Wellness,
Dr. Doyoon Kim, Dr. Sean Park and Vernon Valley Dentistry Team
